I graduated from New England Culinary Institute, 2003.
I was born in Changwha - a small town in the middle of Taiwan. There was a fresh market near by the house which I visit daily, from getting breakfast to shopping with my mom for dinner, or just getting a snack after school.
I have been cooking since..
Since 2001. Before I came to the States, I did not know how to cook, not even boil eggs.
I was a journalist and working part time at a restaurant in Taipei, the restaurant job opened my eyes for food service industry and I took deep interests in learning about food and wine.
After a couple years of submerging myself in the restaurant, I decided I need to learn how to cook and I went to NECI.
Favorite dish to prepare
I don’t think there is a favorite dish for me, I love to cook, period.
Fresh ingredients with simple seasoning and cooking method. And it needs to look beautiful on the plate. :)
Most importantly, I love stories, so whatever we are cooking, it needs to tie in with Chinese history and the community we live in.
